ISIL Must Be Effectively Destroyed

WASHINGTON, D.C.–U.S. Rep. Vance McAllister (R-Swartz)issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s address regarding the situation in the Middle East.

“I respect the President for his desire to work with Congress rather than enforce executive action, however, the threat of terrorism is real and decisive action must be taken when the United States and its Allies are faced with a security threat against their homeland.  The anniversary of September 11 is a reminder that as a nation, we stand ready to take action on terrorists who continue to massacre innocent civilians.

“ISIL must be effectively destroyed to send a clear message to our enemies throughout the world that acts of terrorism will not be tolerated. As a Member of Congress, I will continue to closely monitor this situation and make certain that the American people and our Allies remain protected at home and abroad. We cannot afford to leave safe havens for our enemies.”

U.S. Rep. Vance McAllister, R-Swartz, represents Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District and serves on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the House Committee on Agriculture.
