Congressional Art Competition Information
Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation, as well as in the 5th Congressional District! This competition, known as An Artistic Discovery, is open to all high school students in the 5th District. The over-all winner of our district's competition is displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington includes artwork from other contest winners nation-wide.
In addition to the over-all "Best of Show" winner there are six (6) Honorable Mention winners. Honorable Mentions will be displayed in Congressman Brooks' Capitol Hill office and District office for one year. Winners are awarded during a special ceremony at the museum.
