Fortenberry Statement on Secretary Hagel's Resignation

Lincoln, NE – Congressman Jeff Fortenberry today made the following statement on Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s resignation:  

“I thank Secretary Chuck Hagel for his dedicated public service. I regret that he will soon be leaving the Pentagon. He was a soldier first and foremost, and was guided by that experience as Secretary of Defense. He was not afraid to address the hard question of 21st century military structure and strategy for the benefit of our nation.”

Fortenberry is a member of the House Appropriations Committee.
