Closures for the "Concert for Valor" on November 11

Friday, November 7, 2014

The "Concert for Valor: Saluting America's Veterans" is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, 2014 on the National Mall. There will be significant effects on travel, transit systems and parking throughout the District.

It is important to note that this event will close many of the streets around the area of the National Mall. Street closures will begin at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, November 11, making access in and around Capitol Hill more difficult than normal due to the anticipated number of concert attendees. Further information about the concert, as well as a map detailing street closures may be found online at www.theconcertforvalor.com. Further information regarding specific street closures and alternate routes around will be provided closer to the date.

Please note that normal weekend/holiday vehicular access into the Capitol and House Office Buildings will be allowed. In addition, the U.S. Capitol and Capitol Visitor Center will be open for tours on a regular holiday schedule (8:30 AM until 4:30 PM). For further information regarding tours, please contact the Office of Visitor Services at (202) 593-1762, or online at www.visitthecapitol.gov.
