Jenkins Named to Republican Whip Team

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins has accepted an offer to work with Republican Leadership in the House of Representatives as an Assistant Whip on the Republican Whip Team.

“I look forward to communicating the interests of Kansans to House Leadership as an Assistant Whip,” Jenkins said. “It is an honor to be selected to work with leaders to promote Republican principles in the 111th Congress. I am committed to advancing common-sense and innovative solutions to problems facing Americans today, especially the folks in the Second Congressional District.”

The Republican Whip Team, led by Congressman Eric Cantor of Virginia, is comprised of a select group of Republican leaders who work to craft policy solutions to problems facing the American people. Jenkins is one of the few freshmen Members of Congress asked to join the team.

“This week begins our march toward a stronger future for America based on revitalized, common sense ideals,” said Congressman Eric Cantor, the Republican Whip.  “I’m pleased that Congresswoman Jenkins has joined the Republican Whip Team, the team that will act as the cornerstone of House Republican efforts to preserve, protect and create a better tomorrow for working families.  This team is comprised of top leaders that will advance a positive vision for the future of our country, a vision based on accountability, transparency and action.  I look forward to getting to work alongside of Congresswoman Jenkins."
