The Listen UP! program is designed to help educate high school students about how to avoid making mistakes that could send them to adult criminal court, such as cyberbullying, sexting, marijuana possession, underage drinking and being caught with a fake I.D.
The program was started in 2010 by teenager Jacob Stern, and aims to teach students that some mistakes can have permanent and devastating effects on their lives and the lives of others.
On Tuesday, April 2, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) joined Jacob, Miami-Dade Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho and Judge Beth Bloom at Miami Beach Senior High School to talk with students.
