Academy Nominations

One of my most gratifying duties is to nominate young people from the 22nd congressional district of Texas to Military service academies.  As a Member of Congress, I can make what are referred to as “congressional nominations.” My office oversaw the nomination of ten TX-22 high school students to military academies.

To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements established by law and be nominated from an authorized person including a Member of the United States Senate or the House of Representatives.

NOTE: I may only nominate applicants who are legal residents of the 22nd District of Texas.

I am now taking applications for Service Academy Nominations. Completed applications are due in my office no later than 5 PM on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.  Incomplete applications will not be processed.  Please print all four documents to insure that the application is complete.

• U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, NY)
• U.S. Military Academy (West Point, NY)
• U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD)
• U.S. Coast Guard* (New London, CT)
