This year, new reforms I authored that will help improve the lives of children subjected to abuse or neglect and prevent the sex trafficking of foster children were passed and signed into law. Although much more remains to be done to protect our children from abuse, these changes are a good step forward. In a San Antonio Express-News column, my work toward reform was recognized.
