Vance McAllister, a small business owner, is currently serving his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Vance is proudly representing the people of Louisiana’s Fifth Congressional District which is geographically the largest in the state of Louisiana, covering 24 parishes.

Vance is a Louisiana native and a 1992 graduate of Forest High School. After high school graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army and joined the Louisiana National Guard before enrolling at The University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Louisiana is among America’s richest states in natural resources. Vance’s positions on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the House Committee on Agriculture have significant authority and oversight over a number of economically vital Louisiana interests, allowing him to influence matters of great importance to the Fifth District.

In the remainder of the 113th Congress, passing a common sense Farm Bill is one of Vance’s top priorities as a Member of Congress. He plans to support legislation and programs aimed at expanding American oil and gas production, protecting the rights of the unborn, and defending the liberties granted under the Second Amendment.  At a time of significant challenges facing the American people, it is an honor for him to serve his country and the people of Louisiana in this capacity.

Vance and his wife of 16 years, the former Kelly Duncan, reside in Swartz and are the proud parents of 5 children.
