H.AMDT.731 to H.R.518 Amendment sought to allow unpatented mining claims, mill sites, and tunnel sites within the boundaries of the proposed Mojave National Park that were located before enactment of this act to be subject to all U.S. mining laws except for the Mining in the Parks Act. \ As amended by the Miller (CA) substitute amendment (A020), the above was replaced with language that allows holders of specified mining claims to continue exploration activities for 2 years after enactment of the bill in order to attempt to prove up those claims; and establishes procedures for holders of valid mining claims to continue to mine under certain regulations.
