2. H.AMDT.602 to H.R.4301 Amendments en bloc: (1) prohibit the use of DOD funds for the U.S. assessed share of UN peacekeeping costs; (2) re-allocate funds among defense technology reinvestment programs; (3) prohibit disclosure of certain information on exposure to radiation released from the Hanford Nuclear Reservation; (4) delete language concerning the extension to DOD of provisions relating to obtaining supplies from U.S. factories and arsenals; (5) require DOD to provide assistance to the families of POW's or MIA's from the Korean conflict who remain unaccounted; (6) authorize Job Training Partnership Act assistance to workers dislocated as a result of a reduction in the export of defense articles and services; (7) authorize DOD to designate three specific defense acquisition pilot programs; (8) authorize the Secretary of Defense to carry out a pilot program to encourage the reutilization of certain depot-level activities into commercial uses; (9) require DOD to report to Congress assessing the national security consequences of U.S. military cooperation programs; (10) require the establishment of a plan for the deployment of defense environmental technologies for the dredging of dual-use ports; (11) authorize the conveyance of certain shipyard land to Vallejo, CA; (12) authorize $500,000 for taconite processing technology; (13) require DOD to condu.t a study on using low-enriched uranium to fuel naval reactors; (14) add language expressing the sense of Congress with respect to a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference; (15) clarify the authority for DOD to provide disaster assistance; (16) add an additional exception to the current prohibition on storage and disposal of nondefense toxic and hazardous materials at military installations; (17) authorize assistance for public participation in defense environmental restoration activities; (18) authorize funds for accelerating research and development projects for strategic metals and alloys; (19) add transportation to the list of services for which the armed services museum programs can barter for unneeded historical artifacts owned by the armed services; (20) clarify the authority for the rental of base closure properties; (21) authorize loan guarantees to support the Armament Retooling and Manufacturing Support Initiative; (22) authorize $52 million for the Advanced Capability modification program for the MK-48 torpedo; (23) require DOD to identify and report to Congress on the use of appropriated funds for unauthorized programs; (24) provide authorization for industrial facilities of the Armed Forces to sell articles and services to persons outside of DOD; (25) add language to ensure that the military departments maintain depot-level maintenance and repair capabilities to ensure their critical readiness requirements; (26) authorize DOD support for the 1995 Special Olympic World Games; and (27) and authorize a pilot program to develop environmental remediation technologies.
