Spending Cuts & Debt

Spending is out-of-control in Washington, and has been for quite some time. We have an historic $17 trillion national debt, and each day we are adding to this burden, which will be handed down to our children and grandchildren. The federal government is currently borrowing 46 cents of every dollar it spends. Just as families and businesses balance their own budgets, the federal government should be expected to do the same.

To help create jobs and save our children from national bankruptcy, we must stop spending money we do not have.

It is critical that lawmakers do everything possible to root out waste from the federal budget, reform Washington’s spending process and promote policies that will grow our economy. In my opinion, solving this crisis will also require a constitutional amendment to ensure that future Congresses cannot spend money they do not have.

I support policies that end America’s spending-driven debt crisis and put us on the road to economic growth and job creation.
