Third District Social Media Photo Contest

Have you recently visited my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Youtube? It’s time to update my Social Media Cover photos. That is why I am proud to announce my first-ever photo contest.

Show what you love most about New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District by submitting a picture that could be my new cover photo.

How to Enter

  1. Like my official Facebook Page.
  2. Snap a photo of your favorite Landmark or capture what you love about living in the district.
    • Be creative—the more likes you get, the better your chance to win!
  3. Email your photo to lujanphotocontest@gmail.com;
    • Include: Full Name, Email Address, Mailing Address and Photo Location/Description.
    • Photo should be in a standard format (i.e., JPG, PNG, GIF);
  4. Submit no later than July 18th at 10pm MST.


How it works

  1. After submitting your photos, my staff and I will select the qualifying finalists, which will be posted on Facebook in the order that they are received.
  2. Your photo will be uploaded to the official Facebook page in a photo album (you will get an email once your photo has been posted to the photo gallery).
  3. Encourage your friends and family to share the photo and like it!
  4. The photo with the most ‘likes’ will win the grand prize of having your photo as my cover photo on Facebook. Tip: Photos will be uploaded in the order that they are received, so the sooner you enter the better.
  5. Photo must be submitted no later than Friday, July 18th, at 10pm MST.
  6. Winners will be announced on Friday, July 25, 2014.


Competition Rules

  • Photos must be taken by the person submitting the photo.
  • One photo submission per person.
  • You must be the author of the photo and it cannot be copyrighted, or have a pending copyright application by another author without permission.
  • Photos must be within New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District which is composed of the northern half of New Mexico. Click here to learn more and see a map.
  • Entrants must be residents of New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District.  If you’re not sure if you’re a resident of my district, click here to find out.
  • Photos will be judged for creativity, quality, and by Facebook "likes."
  • Higher-quality photos are strongly preferred.  Ideal dimensions for Facebook cover photos: 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall.
  • By submitting your photo, you are giving my office permission to publish your photo on my website, Facebook and other social media networks, in print and         digital form, and any other form.
  • You may request to have your photos withdrawn from the contest, and my office reserves the right to not post your photos.
  • Violations of these rules may lead to disqualification.
