Lujan Announces Veterans Mobile Office Hours Across Northern New Mexico
6/13/14Santa Fe, NM – Congressman Ben Ray Luján announced today that, in addition to regular mobile office hours, his staff will be holding veterans mobile office hours to provide additional assistance to New Mexico veterans in the wake of reports that thousands of veterans have experienced significant wait times for medical care at the Albuquerque VA facility.
Staff will be available on Wednesday, June 25 to hear from veterans regarding their experiences with the VA and to help with casework for those in need of assistance. Luján is encouraging veterans to share their stories with his office in an effort to address the unacceptable misconduct that has occurred in VA facilities across the country.
“The reports of negligence, phantom panels, and significant delays to see primary care doctors are deeply disappointing and must be addressed quickly and thoroughly,” Congressman Luján said. “My office will hold additional mobile office hours to meet with veterans in their communities to hear their stories and help them get the care they need. Listening to their stories and their experiences is an important part of learning the extent of the problems at the VA and fixing a system that has failed too many of our veterans.”
