Thank you for your interest in the U.S. Service Academies. As the representative for Virginia’s 5th District, I have the honor of nominating candidates to United States Military Service Academies each year. An appointee to one of these state-of-the-art institutions is admitted on a full scholarship with access to exceptional academic opportunities. The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.

Eligible applicants interested in a Congressional Nomination must complete a nomination package and submit it to my Danville office no later than November 3, 2014. For more information, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions page or contact Shani Shorter at (434) 791-2596.

My office will host an informational session in the Spring of 2015. This informational seminar is open to students, parents, teachers, counselors and JROTC instructors. At the event, you will hear an overview of the academies and their admissions processes, and representatives will be available to answer your questions.
