Expedited Decision: Brazil
Kathleen and Leandro Idiarte contacted Sen. Franken after their decision on Mr. Idiarte's immigrant visa had been held up at the United States Embassy in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. An expedited decision in this case was vital, as Isabella needed to come to Minnesota to receive a cochlear implant.

Assisting Minnesotans with the IRS
John Hirt was surprised when he was informed that the IRS had no record of him filing his 2012 tax return. This was particularly concerning because John was expecting to close on a refinancing of his home and needed a transcript of his taxes. After spending over forty hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue, John was still unaware of any solutions, so he contacted Sen. Franken.
