McCarthy: Our Thoughts and Prayers are with Our Firefighters and Victims of the White Fire

Washington D.C. – Today, as over 1,500 firefighters continue to fight the White Fire that is devastating parts of Kern County, Congressman McCarthy issued the following statement:

“As our brave men and women battle the White Fire near Rosamond, I ask our neighbors to keep those families who lost everything in their thoughts and prayers. I commend the Governor for his visit today in support of our community, and the strong support of our firefighters and all the firefighters that have mobilized to help us from across the state.”

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reported on Friday morning that the fire was sixty five percent contained, but destroyed 12 residences and six outbuildings, and threatens over 150 homes.
