House Passes McCarthy's Resolution Commending Mojave Intermediate Space Challenge Competition

Washington D.C. – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Congressman McCarthy’s resolution (H.Res. 411) recognizing the Intermediate Space Challenge in Mojave, California.  This annual event helps strengthen local students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics career fields.  Congressman McCarthy spoke on the House floor during floor debate of the resolution that can be viewed here.

Congressman McCarthy issued the following statement:

“Our children are our country’s future, and the Intermediate Space Challenge is just one example of how we can inspire them to be the next generation of high-tech innovators to keep our country on the cutting edge of technology development. Today, the House rightly recognized the importance of this local event in Mojave, placing emphasis on the growing national need to challenge and engage our children’s interest in science and math.”

Joining Congressman McCarthy as original cosponsors of H. Res. 411 were Congressman Buck McKeon (CA-25) and Congressman Jim Costa (CA-20).
