Statement on Vice Presidential visit to Maine

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree issued the following statement about Vice President Joe Biden's announced visit to Maine this Wednesday. Pingree will be accompanying Biden as he tours the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery.

"The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard has a world class workforce and we are always proud to show them off to top officials like Vice President Biden. And it's important for people like the Vice President to see first-hand how committed the yard is to efficiency and quality workmanship. The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is a critical part of the country's military infrastructure, and I'm glad Vice President Biden is going to get a good, close look at the work they are doing there. And while he's there I think we can also remind him of how important it is to get federal funding to help replace the Sarah Long Bridge, which is critically important to the shipyard."
