BUSINESS

Congressman David Schweikert is a member of the House Committee on Small Business and a long-time advocate for free enterprise, economic growth, and access to capital.

He authored key portions of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (JOBS Act) which passed with bipartisan support in 2012 and was subsequently signed into law.  This piece of legislation reversed decades of regulatory burden, opening new capital markets to America’s entrepreneurs.

ENVIRONMENT

Congressman David Schweikert is Chairman of the House Science, Space, and Technology Subcommittee on Environment and a strong advocate for transparent data, evidence, and scientific research. He is the author of the Secret Science Reform Act, which prohibits the EPA from proposing regulations based on science that is not transparent or reproducible.

 FINANCE

Congressman David Schweikert was an original co-sponsor of the JOBs Act and is a strong advocate for small business and proponent of measures to expand access to capital for emerging companies.

He is a lifelong resident of Arizona with strong ties to the financial security of the state. While in the state legislature, David sponsored one of the largest tax cuts in Arizona history. Later in his career, he was elected Maricopa Country Treasurer, where he earned more than $300 million for the county.

Today as a Member of Congress, David draws on his experience as a businessman, civil servant, and taxpayer advocate to break-down the numbers and show the economic reality of our nation’s mounting debt. 

STEM

Congressman David Schweikert is Chairman of the House Science, Space, and Technology Subcommittee on Environment and the first Arizona delegate to host the inaugural House STEM ‘App’ Challenge.

He represents a district dense in technology companies and is a proponent of private sector STEM education initiatives. His experience with local level STEM companies in Arizona has spurred a strong interest in ensuring a technology-focused work force in coming generations, as well as a robust market for capital growth.

COMMUNITY

Congressman David Schweikert is a lifelong resident of Arizona with deep ties to Arizona’s 6thDistrict, which encompasses the northern Phoenix metropolitan area including the cities of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and portions of Cave Creek and Carefree. Raised in Scottsdale, David attended Cocopah Elementary School, Saguaro High School, and earned both a Bachelor’s of Finance and an MBA from Arizona State University. He is a long-time advocate for free enterprise, economic growth, and veterans.
