Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) announced two staff changes for the Committee today.

Matt Sturges has been promoted to Deputy Staff Director.  Sturges has previously served on the Committee staff as Aviation Subcommittee Staff Director, and as the Committee’s Director of Member Services.  Sturges also has previous experience working for U.S. Rep. Patrick Meehan (R-PA) as Legislative Director, for the House Republican Conference under Chairman Deborah Pryce, and for the Republican National Committee as Deputy Director of Government Affairs and chief liaison to the House of Representatives.

Jennifer Hall has been appointed Deputy Staff Director, and will also continue to serve as General Counsel to the Committee.  Hall has been with the Committee since 2006.  She previously served as Counsel to the Highways and Transit Subcommittee and as Counsel to the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management.  Hall has also been a Counsel with the House Government Reform Committee and worked at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

“Jennifer and Matt have proven to be dedicated, hard-working, valuable members of the staff, and both have reliably provided steady and knowledgeable guidance to me and the other Members of the Committee,” Shuster said.  “I am confident they will continue to excel in their new roles with the Committee as we finish the 113th Congress and look ahead to a busy legislative schedule in the next Congress.”
