Bachmann Enjoys Coffee with Constituents in Big Lake

Following successfull events in Circle Pines, Watertown, and Monticello, I was excited to visit Big Lake on March 2 for my fourth "Coffee with your Congresswoman" of the year. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the wonderful people in Big Lake for meeting with me at Lake Café.

As your Representative, I always look forward to the opportunity to sit down with constituents over a cup of coffee and listen as they share their stories, comments and concerns. Minnesota is a wonderful state in which to raise a family, and the giving spirit of its residents never ceases to impress me. The men and women I met this weekend embody the values that make this state so great. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Majors Joann and Manuel Madrid, who dedicated their lives to service in the Salvation Army. It was a real honor to see Bernie and Elli Urban, who met the call of duty during World War II. Thank you to them, and to all our Minnesota veterans, for the sacrifices they’ve made to keep us safe.

Each week as I meet constituents, I hear many of the same concerns. Minnesotans are worried about protecting our Second Amendment rights, the rising fuel costs and the impact of taxes and regulation on local job creation. I understand your concerns, and I appreciate that you all took the time to share with me your individual stories. I will keep them in mind as I continue to represent the Sixth District and fight for real solutions to these issues.

Thank you again to all who came out to Lake Café to meet with me. I care about this district, and if there is anything my staff or I can do, please don’t hesitate to contact my offices.
