Congressman Scott DesJarlais, M.D. (R-TN-04) released the following statement on the government shutdown:
“The people of Tennessee’s Fourth Congressional District are overwhelmingly opposed to the president’s health care law and have been vocal in asking me to hold the line in preventing its implementation.
“As I have said before, a temporary shutdown pales in comparison to the long-term negative consequences that ObamaCare will impose on our economy and our health care system. “
