Bachmann Spends Memorial Day in St. Cloud, Sartell

Happy Memorial Day! Every year, soldiers, veterans, their families and friends, and thankful Americans gather across the nation on Memorial Day to pay tribute to our brave sons and daughters who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our great nation.

We must also remember that our responsibility to our troops does not end when their tour of duty does. Far from it. At every turn we must support those who proudly shoulder the burden of defending this nation. Let us share their stories so that their sacrifice is never forgotten, and may we always remember that our nation’s freedom and prosperity have not been easily purchased. 

I was honored to be able to speak at both the St. Cloud and Sartell Memorial Day services as we pause and remember America's brave troops. In Sartell, we also remember the Maus family, who lost their beloved Jon, and all the workers who lost their jobs in the tragic fire and explosion at the Verso Paper Mill one year ago. My thoughts and prayers remain with the entire Sartell community.
