Thank you for contacting the Office of Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards for a White House tour.  Below are requirements for submitting a White House tour request.

Requesting your White House tour:

  • Complete both the forms at the bottom of this page (White House Tour Request Form and White House Security Information Template).  Both forms are required in order to submit your request.
  • Date of tour must be at least 21 days from date of submission. However, 6 months and 1 day is better.
  • These self-guided tours are available from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Fridays, and 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturdays (excluding federal holidays). Tour hours will be extended when possible based on the official White House schedule.
  • Minimum number of people attending a tour is 1.
  • Please include up to three dates you are available for touring the White House. Often, if one day fills up, the day before or after may be available- however we are only able to request tours for the dates that you have included in your request form.

 

Returning the forms:

  • White House Tour Request Form and Security Information Template form.
  • Both forms must be completed and returned together in one email in order for your tour to be processed.
  • Incomplete forms or not submitting both forms will make the request incomplete.

Security Template:

In order to process your tour, complete and return the attached Security Information Template form below. All fields must be completed.

  • A Social Security Number is required for each visitor 16 years old and above.
  • The country code form is to be used by foreign visitors. If the person is visiting from another country, the city and state where they are staying must be completed.
  • Resident Alien (Green Card Holder):  They should be listed as “N” for Citizen, list the country of birth and city and state where they are staying during the time of their visit.
    • For U.S. Citizens, the city and state should match what is on their driver’s license. 
    • If the person does not have a middle initial, please enter NMN.
  • The number of spots requested on the form must match the number of people on the security template.

 

Once the security information has been submitted, no substitutions will be made. In order to make a correction, a new tour request will need to be submitted.

Updates on your tour request:

Once your form is received, the following steps will be taken:

  • A tour ID will be emailed to as confirmation of your request.
    •  The White House tour site is checked once a day for change in status.

Your tour can be accepted or denied one week or two days before your requested date.

  • Constituents will be contacted when there is a change in status which may be two days before tour date.

Inquiries about your tour should only occur one week before your tour date.

Tour acceptance or denial:

  • The final decision to accept or deny tours is made by the White House.
    • Tours are accepted or denied at moments notice. The White House does not provide explanations for security reasons.

Incomplete forms or request of multiple tours on a single form/email will not be processed. The submission is not confirmation of a tour. If accepted, you will receive notice of approval.
