GET INVOLVED

D.C. Internships
The internship program is a wonderful opportunity designed to give students a chance to learn more about the legislative process and the responsibilities of a Congressional office through first-hand experience.

Congressional Art Competition
The annual Congressional Art Competition gives students a rare and unique opportunity to share their talent with the thousands of visitors who come to our nation’s Capital, and I invite all high school students residing within the 4th District of Texas to participate.

Academy Nominations
As a Member of Congress, I have the opportunity to nominate qualified young men and women who reside in the 4th Congressional District for appointment to our nation's service academies. Academies include the U.S. Air Force Academy, West Point Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC)
The National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC) in Washington, D.C “gives high-achieving high school sophomores, juniors and seniors a greater understanding of their roles in democracy and the responsibilities of leadership.”

The Congressional Award
The Congressional Award program is open to all 14- to 23-year-olds and involves setting goals in four program areas: Volunteer Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration.
