Rep. Beatty Joins U.S. House Members for the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

(Washington, D.C.) – Congresswoman Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement regarding the U.S. House of Representatives 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony honoring the twelfth Anniversary of the September 11, 2001, Terrorist Attacks.

Today, marks the twelfth Anniversary of the September 11, 2001, Terrorist Attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, that claimed the lives of many innocent bystanders and first responders.  Members of the Congress united to pay tribute on the East Steps of the United States Capitol.

“My most heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the fallen victims, brave heroes and resilient survivors of the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks.  We also pay tribute to the September 11, 2012 U.S. Consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya that claimed the lives of U.S. public servants, including U.S. Ambassador John Stevens.

“I salute our noble men and women in uniform whose commitment to protect the United States has been demonstrated in their service abroad in Iraq and Afghanistan. We will continue to remember and honor those who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of our country; your commitment to protect our nation will never go unnoticed.”

“Today, in our moments of silence as we reflect, remember, and pray, let us not forget that we live in the world’s greatest country that is resilient in the face of tragedy. It is my sincere hope that all citizens can unite on this solemn day to continue to pray for liberty, peace, and justice throughout all nations of the world.”
