Beatty joins Experience Columbus at Washington, D.C. Who’s Who ceremony to tout Central Ohio as convention and conference destination

(Washington, D.C.) – Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) will join Experience Columbus and locally based company, Who’s Who Publishing Company, at the 3rd annual Who’s Who in Black Washington to advocate for businesses and organizations to bring conventions, conferences, and meetings to the region.

Today, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-3) will join Dan Williams, Senior Director of Convention Sales for Experience Columbus, Central Ohio’s convention and visitor’s bureau, to advocate for businesses and organizations to bring conventions, conferences, and meetings.

“I am happy to have the opportunity to advocate for central Ohio and Columbus as a destination location for future conventions, conferences, and meetings with the honorees of Who’s Who in Black Washington, DC.  These individuals run businesses and organizations that can come to the region for future events and help spur our local economy,” Congresswoman Beatty stated.

Both speakers’ remarks will tout the area’s growing population, flourishing business community and the region’s entertainment offerings.

“The Central Ohio region can offer convention organizers and attendees top-notch facilities; access to small and large businesses, and entertainment destinations including award-winning museums, libraries and zoo; sports events and recreational activities; and cultural events at the Wexner Center for the Arts, the King Arts Complex and in the Short North Arts District,”  Beatty remarked.

“Central Ohio has a lot to offer and I look forward hosting these individuals from Washington, DC, and around the nation in our community in the near future,” stated Beatty.

The outreach to individuals in Washington comes on the heels of a successful year of national conventions being held in Columbus including the Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference that featured entrepreneurs from all over the country and speakers such as Congresswoman Beatty and Ervin “Magic” Johnson.

According to Experience Columbus’ annual report released in March of this year; conventions, trade shows, organization meetings, and events, infuse more than $7.8 billion into the local economy each year.
