(Washington, DC) – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after signing a letter urging the Obama Administration to reconsider its recent decision to abandon efforts to maintain age restrictions on the sale of Plan B One-Step:

“I am deeply disappointed this Administration has given up and allowed for Plan B to be made available over the counter to young girls. As a pro-life physician, I feel this action will not only pose new health risks for these young women, but it will also allow the government to further impede on the rights of concerned parents. I strongly urge the Administration to reconsider this measure.”
