Ed Rella - Graduate

A grandfather and several uncles who served in the military inspired Ed Rella to enlist in the U.S. Army and serve his country. He saw duty in Kuwait and Bosnia as a tank crewman.

Rella had several jobs after he left the Army. He learned about the House Wounded Warrior Program through the Department of Veterans Affairs' Vetsuccess website. He applied to the program and was selected for a fellowship with Congressman Sanford Bishop, who represents Georgia’s second district.

Rella worked as a Constituent Services Representative, but his primary focus was assisting veterans. His case work was concentrated on helping veterans obtain their records or missing awards, and he interfaced with the local VA Healthcare Clinic on behalf of constituents.

Rella valued his work with constituents, especially when a veteran would call to thank him for assistance he has provided.  Rella completed 17 months before leaving the WW Program to accept a position with the Social Security Administration.
