Oversight

Accountability

I believe Americans have a right to know how their hard-earned tax dollars are spent. We must keep our government accountable in order to ensure efficient, effective programs that work for the American people. As a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, I am dedicated to keeping government agencies like Health and Human Services and the Environmental Protection Agency accountable.

Investigation of Benghazi:

The details surrounding the attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 remain largely unclear.  I believe the American people deserve an explanation from the Obama Administration’s actions leading up to and during this horrific attack – especially since publically-available information contradicted the Administration’s accounts describing the cause of the attack.

For well over a year, House Committees have conducted an exhaustive investigation of what caused this devastating assault, and I am working to keep every branch of our government accountable for its actions. The American people want to know what happened that night, and they want to know why the White House refuses to tell the whole truth.

I am committed to keeping the Administration accountable to the American People, and I will continue to work with Rep. Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, to ensure our government’s transparency and efficiency.
