Meehan: U.S. Needs Jobs Solution to Avoid More Sunocos

“I’m very concerned for the workers and their families who will be affected by today’s news. Our energy industry is a huge economic driver in our region and is tied to thousands of jobs. All efforts must be focused on keeping these jobs and this vital industry in this region. I have visited Sunoco’s Marcus Hook refinery and I’ve gotten to know workers and union members there. I want them to know that I will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them as we work toward a new future for the facility.

“This is exactly why we need to level the playing field for American workers and help create jobs in this country. Unless we find solutions, there will be more Sunocos, and more jobs will be threatened.”
