Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) issued the following statement today after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) did not fund the city of Flint’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant application:

“Over the past year, I have worked with local officials to aggressively advocate for a SAFER grant for the city of Flint. Today’s announcement that Flint has not received a third SAFER grant is obviously not the outcome we wanted.
