Gun lock giveaway in Saginaw offered by U.S. Rep. Dan Kildee's office
Local law enforcement will join with federal government officials Wednesday, Aug. 27, to distribute free gun locks to the general public in Saginaw.
The program is a cooperative effort being led by U.S. Rep. Dan Kildee, D-Flint Township.
"I'm proud to partner with local, state and federal law enforcement to provide free gun locks to Saginaw residents," Kildee said. "Securing firearms in homes will help to prevent accidental gun-related deaths and reduce instances of gun thefts and violence.
"While gun locks will not solve all crime in our community, they are one positive way that we can make our neighborhoods stronger and safer for everyone," Kildee said.
Kildee and Federspiel will be joined by Steven Bogdalek, special agent in charge of the ATF Detroit Field Division and Saginaw Police Chief Brian Lipe.
