  • Tom tours the Columbus Port of Entry in Luna County and holds a stakeholder meeting highlighting the importance of expanding the port. At Udall's request, General Services Administration (GSA) Administrator Dan Tangherlini joined the tour to hear from local leaders why the expansion is critical to economic development in Southern New Mexico. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and chairman of the Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government, which funds the GSA, Tom helped secure $7.4 million to complete the design phase of the port of entry, and he continues to fight for full construction funding.
