Vice Chair Lynn Jenkins:

"Over the course of the last couple weeks at home in Kansas, I had the opportunity to visit a whole lot of small businesses: some mom and pops, and some with hundreds of employees.  Whether it was talking with the employees or the employers, the message was always the same – folks want to just do their job and have government get out of their way.

“One employee I visited with said this, ‘All we want is to do our job without the government adding regulations every second.’

“An employer said this, ‘All I want to do is grow our company but because of ObamaCare and all the unknown consequences that lie behind the curtains, we can’t hire new people.’

“This Obama economy is holding people back.

“The work-force participation rate is the lowest that it has been in 40  years. ObamaCare is holding people back, higher taxes, more regulations, and government picking winners and losers.

“We look forward to this new year. We have dozens of bills that have passed through the House that are sitting in the Senate that could get us back on track. This is not a Republican issue or a Democrat issue. It is about getting this country back on the right track and getting Americans back to work.”
