Manhattan Native to Intern in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins is pleased to announce Jessica Schultz of Manhattan, Kan., will work as a congressional intern in her Washington, D.C. office.

“Jessica is a great addition to my Washington staff,” Jenkins said. “She has proven herself as a leader at K-State through her involvement in student government and other student organizations as well as her academic achievements. I am confident Jessica will be an asset to our office this summer and will serve the folks of Kansas well.”

Schultz, a senior studying political science at Kansas State University, serves as a student senator in the Student Governing Association and recently completed an internship in the Kansas House of Representatives. She has also been active in various community service projects in the Manhattan community. She is the daughter of Tim and Angie Schultz of Manhattan.

“I am excited to be spending the summer living and working in Washington, D.C.,” Schultz said. “There are so many incredible things to see and do here.  I am eager to learn the ins and outs of the legislative process and look forward to working for the people of my home congressional district.”
