WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins is pleased to announce Kevin Rodriguez of Leavenworth, Kan., is working as a congressional intern in her Washington, D.C. office.

“Kevin is a great addition to my Washington staff,” Jenkins said. “Kevin’s ability to balance a demanding work schedule with school and extra-curricular activities will enable him to work well under pressure and balance multiple projects. I am confident he will be an asset to our office this fall and will serve the folks of Kansas well.”

Rodriguez is pursuing an associate’s degree in communications and international relations from Kansas City Community College.  He has extensive workplace experience, serving as the catering and event planner for his family’s business in Leavenworth. He is the son of Ray and Connie Rodriguez of Leavenworth.

Rodriguez said, “I am excited that I have this opportunity before me. I am very fortunate that Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins has given me the chance to work alongside her on issues facing the state of Kansas. It’s a privilege to see firsthand how our government works. It has always been a goal of mine to be involved in public service. I plan to take advantage of every moment of this experience.”
