K-State Student Begins Internship in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins is pleased to announce Lauren Hoover of Overland Park, Kan., is working as a congressional intern in her Washington, D.C. office.

“Lauren is a great addition to my Washington staff,” Jenkins said. “Her attention to detail, strong work ethic and positive attitude have allowed her to hit the ground running. I am confident she will be an asset to our office this fall and will serve the folks of Kansas well.”

Hoover, a senior studying marketing and management and minors in government affairs and Spanish at K-State, is active on campus and in the Manhattan community. She is the founding president of the United Way Students in Action group at K-State and serves on the Riley County United Way Board of Directors. She is the son of Jerry and Linda Hoover of Overland Park, Kan.

Hoover said, “I am thrilled to spend a semester working with Congresswoman Jenkins and her team in Washington, D.C. It is such a pivotal time in public policy, and I am excited to be a part of the current debates here in Washington. I look forward to a semester working under someone I have so much respect for and hope to leave here with knowledge and experience that I could not have learned in a classroom.”
