Jenkins' Website Recognized As One of Best in Congress

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins’ official website for her congressional office was selected by the nonpartisan Congressional Management Foundation as a Silver Mouse award winner in the Golden Mouse Awards in the 111th Congress.

“I am so honored that my website was recognized as a Silver Mouse winner. When I was first elected to the House of Representatives, it was my priority to ensure Kansans received the absolute best constituent services they’d ever seen from their member of Congress,” Jenkins said. “From day one, I’ve dedicated myself to communicating with Kansans and have worked to build and keep our website as up to date as possible with information about what I am doing in Washington, communications tools, and important resources about the federal government.”

The Congressional management Foundation evaluated 620 congressional websites, including all House, Senate, leadership and committee sites. All websites are evaluated on how well they incorporate five key principles, including: knowing the audience; providing timely and targeted content; ease of use; fostering interaction on and offline; and adding value through innovation. Congresswoman Jenkins continued, “My staff and I will continue exploring new and innovative ways to keep in touch with Kansans. A few years ago, new media technologies like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter were relatively unknown, but today they are necessary tools that my staff and I utilize daily. We will continue using these technologies, our official website and other communications tools to ensure Kansans know what I am doing and receive the best constituent services possible.”
