Jenkins to Host Jobs Fair in Topeka

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins is hosting a jobs fair on Monday, April 19, 2010, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Ag Hall at the Kansas Expocenter.

“Kansans are continuing to struggle through this challenging economic time, and it is clear the so-called stimulus passed last year is not the job creator we were promised,” Jenkins said. “That’s why my staff and I want to connect job-seekers with employers who have open positions at a jobs fair.”

The Jobs Fair will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010, at Ag Hall at the Kansas Expocenter from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. It is free of charge to all employers and open to the community to attend. Congresswoman Jenkins encourages all employers interested in having a booth at the job fair to visit her website at http://lynnjenkins.house.gov/jobsfair to register or call her Topeka office at (785) 234-5966 for more information. Additionally, she encourages all job-seekers to register for the fair on her website or by calling the Topeka office. Job-seekers are not required to register in order to attend.

Congresswoman Jenkins continued, “These are tough times, and folks continue looking to Washington for answers and for relief. Rather than relying on Congress to act, this jobs fair will give folks in Kansas without jobs the opportunity to meet with local employers who are hiring.”
