Jenkins to Host Congress to Kansas Listening Sessions in Horton and Troy

WASHINGTON –Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins announced today that she will continue bringing Congress to Kansas during the 112th Congress by hosting two listening sessions on Thursday, October 20, 2011. The first will take place in Brown County in Horton at the Horton Senior Center at 12:30 pm followed by a Doniphan County event in Troy, KS at the Pioneer Center at 2:30 pm. Having visited every county in the 2nd district at least once, these events will mark the 41st and 42nd Congress to Kansas events this year.

“Regularly meeting with and listening to the folks at home is one of the most important and most enjoyable responsibilities as your representative in Congress. So far my 2011 Congress to Kansas tour has been an enormous success.  As the tour continues next week, I look forward to returning to Brown and Doniphan County.   I hope to see a lot of Kansans in both Horton and Troy next Thursday so we can listen to each other, voice concerns, ask questions, and work together to find solutions to get this Country back on the right path.” Jenkins said.

Since January 2009, Congresswoman Jenkins has held Congress to Kansas events during congressional work periods to keep Kansans informed about what she is doing in Congress. Throughout this year, Congresswoman Jenkins will continue traveling to communities in Eastern Kansas to hold a series of listening sessions and mobile office hours.
