Jenkins Thanks U.S. House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy for His Continued Support of the NBAF in Manhattan

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) hosted United States House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on a tour of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) and the Biosecurity Research Institute (BRI) in Manhattan.  Congresswoman Jenkins released the following statement thanking Majority Whip McCarthy for his continued support of the NBAF and the BRI after their tour:

“The protection of our Nation’s citizens and food supply is a critical mission of the Congress and the Federal Government. I want to thank Majority Whip McCarthy for visiting the NBAF and BRI in Manhattan today, and for his strong and steadfast support of the NBAF’s construction here in Kansas.  With the BRI and the experts at K-State, there is nowhere else in the world with better knowledge, expertise, or experience in studying animal health.  Manhattan is where the NBAF belongs, a fact confirmed by two administrations and members of Congress from across the political spectrum, and its funding will continue to be a priority of the House.   Again, I want to express my sincere gratitude to Majority Whip McCarthy for taking the time to tour the NBAF and BRI today, and I look forward to continuing to work with him and the rest of House Leadership to see the NBAF construction completed as soon as possible.”
