Jenkins Joins Amicus Brief in Support of Arizona's Immigration Law

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins joined with the American Center for Law and Justice and 76 U.S. Representatives and 5 Senators to file an amicus brief in support of Arizona’s efforts to enforce federal immigration law. She released the following statement after the brief was filed:

“Illegal immigration puts an economic strain on our country and puts American citizens at risk. The federal government failed to take seriously the threats illegal immigration puts on our country, forcing Arizona to pass their state law to assist with implementation and enforcement of federal immigration law. Rather than suing the State of Arizona for trying to protect its borders and keep its legal citizens safe, the federal government should work with the State of Arizona to enforce immigration law and put an end to illegal immigration in our country.”
