Jenkins: I Am Ready To Get To Work

WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins issued the following statement after being sworn in today as a member of the 111th Congress during official ceremonies at the United States Capitol:

“I am honored and excited to represent Kansas’s Second Congressional District in the House of Representatives. The folks in Kansas, and across the country, made it clear that they want fresh ideas and new leadership. I am ready to roll up my sleeves, put partisan politics aside and get to work.

“Hands down, my number-one priority is constituent services. I was elected by Kansans to represent their interests in Washington, and I want to make our office as helpful and accessible to constituents as possible. Even though I have to be in Washington much of the time, I will return to Kansas every weekend that legislative business does not require me to be away.

“I have my spent entire professional career addressing financial problems, and I have the practical experience to bring common sense and responsible policy-making to the House of Representatives. There’s no doubt the economy will be front and center, and I am prepared to offer any expertise I can in terms of helping our economy recover.

“There is a lot on the plate for the 111th Congress. I cannot say exactly what will come up with a new Congress and a new Administration, but my priority is sticking up for Kansans in every way I can.”
