Jenkins Attends No Labels National Ideas Meeting, Participates In Congressional Panel & Tax Reform Working Group

WASHINGTON, D.C.–Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) attended the No Labels National Ideas Meeting and participated in the Congressional Problem Solvers Panel as well as the Tax Reform Working Group to kick-start the No Labels National Strategic Agenda. The Panel was led by CNN’s Dana Bash and included nearly a dozen Members of Congress from both parties. Congresswoman Jenkins issued the following statement after the National Ideas Meeting:

“The reason I ran for office is because I was frustrated with both parties. Both parties are to blame for the dysfunction in Washington, and this is exactly why hardworking Americans are fed up with Congress. The level of political rancor has caused the legislative process to break down, and too often we can no longer do the simplest things. We need to put the American people ahead of politics, work together, and restore the American people’s trust in our nation’s leaders. I came to Washington because I wanted to find real solutions to help real people and one way to accomplish this is through the No Labels Problem Solver group.

“When I joined the Problem Solvers group there were only a hand full of members, and now there are close to a hundred Republicans and Democrats from even the far right and the far left that meet on a regular basis. The National Ideas Meeting was another opportunity to discuss the current issues and ideas for the No Labels National Strategic Agenda. We are not about checking our principles at the door. We are about listening and respecting each other as we work to strengthen America. For example, over half of the bills I have introduced have bipartisan co-sponsors and many of whom I have met through the Problem Solvers group. Neither Democrats nor Republicans have the power to unilaterally push through their agenda. Either we work across the aisle to fix problems or we achieve nothing.”
