Jenkins Announces Open Office Hours Schedule

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins announced today that she will continue bringing Congress to Kansas during the 112th Congress by hosting a series of open office hours at her Topeka Congressional office.  At 9:00am CST on the first Monday of each month, starting this Monday, March 7 and continuing through June, Congresswoman Jenkins will have one-on-one meetings with Kansans to discuss their questions and concern.

“Listening to and serving Eastern Kansans is my top priority as your representative in Congress.  These one-on-one meetings provide me with a chance to hear from constituents on a more personal basis.  If they have casework issues, personal stories, or legislative concerns they may not feel comfortable voicing in a town hall forum these meetings allow an opportunity to do so.” Jenkins said. “I am committed to ensuring this Congress is more successful than the last, and that begins with listening and taking your ideas and concerns back to Washington.”

Since January 2009, Congresswoman Jenkins has held Congress to Kansas events during congressional work periods to keep Kansans informed about what she is doing in Congress. Throughout this year, Congresswoman Jenkins will continue traveling to communities in Eastern Kansas to hold a series of listening sessions and mobile office hours. The website will be updated as Congresswoman Jenkins and her staff finalize the Congress to Kansas schedule.

Jenkins continued, “There are major issues affecting our country right now, and it is critical that Kansans have a strong voice fighting for them. I look forward to meeting with Kansans each month to discuss their concerns and answering their questions at my office in Topeka.”
