Jenkins: After Six Months, Kansans Still Struggling

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins issued the following statement on the six-month anniversary of the Democrat’s $1 trillion so-called stimulus bill becoming law:

“When the President signed the stimulus, he promised it would create jobs and provide immediate relief. Unfortunately, in the last six months, 2.8 million Americans have lost their jobs. Kansans have been forced to make sacrifices to make ends meet in this recession, and they know we can’t spend our way back to prosperity.

“Rather than recklessly spending taxpayer dollars on programs that don’t work, I am hopeful when Congress returns to Washington in September that all members can work together to curb spending, control debt and get Americans back to work.”
