Iola Native to Intern in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins is pleased to announce Scott Toland of Iola, Kansas, is working as a congressional intern in her Washington, D.C. office.

“Scott has hit the ground running and is a great addition to my Washington office,” Jenkins said. “He has a tremendous work ethic and great experience from his involvement on campus at KU and his internship in the Kansas Senate. I am confident Scott will be an asset to the office and will serve Kansans well.”

Toland recently graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in political science and journalism and will begin graduate school at the University of Texas this fall. He was active on campus, working for the University Daily Kansan and serving in multiple leadership and service organizations.  Scott is the son of Karen Toland and the late John Toland of Iola.

“I am thrilled to be in Washington, D.C. and this internship has provided me with the perfect opportunity to see the legislative process up close,” Toland said. “My work this summer has given me great experience as I prepare for graduate school this fall.  I really appreciate the opportunity to work for Congresswoman Jenkins and my time on Capitol Hill is something that I will always remember.”
