Holton Native to Intern in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins is pleased to announce Steve Iverson of Holton, Kan., will work as a congressional intern in her Washington, D.C. office.

“Steve is a great addition to my Washington staff,” Jenkins said. “As a Sergeant in the Kansas Army National Guard, Steve has proven himself a leader and has served his state and nation in the war in Iraq. I am confident he will be an asset to our office this summer and will serve the folks of Kansas well.”

Iverson, a junior studying political science at Washburn University, returned to Washburn after being deployed to Iraq in 2007. He has also interned for Kansas State Senator Ruth Teichman, assisting with constituent communications and outreach and legislative research. He is the son of Doug and Sharon Iverson of Holton.

Iverson said, “It is humbling to work in nation’s capitol and have the opportunity to represent the Midwest and the great state of Kansas.”
